MINUTE OF THE MEETING OF THE DISTRICT MONITORING COMMITTEE
ON RSVY HELD IN THE OFFICE CHAMBER OF DEPUTY COMMISSIONER, LAWNGTLAI ON 2ND
NOVEMBER, 2006 AT 11:00AM
Pu C.Ralkapa, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the District Monitoring
Committee on RSVY presided over the meeting. At the outset, the chairman
welcomed members and informed them that the purpose of the meeting was to
consider how to implemented the fund under the 3rd Installment of RSVY amounting
to Rs 750 lakh. 28 members of the committee attended the meeting and list of
members is appended in the annexure.
Various points were raised and most of the members were of in
the opinion that implementation of works must be based on the original plans and
estimates as far as possible Special attention was also given to proposal made
by Pu Saihlira, Deputy Adviser, Planning and Programme Implementation Department
regarding quality improvement of all works and speeding up of works unlike
before as RSVY is now replaced by the Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF). Funds
allotted under this BRGF shall be released only after the existing RSVY money of
Rs 45 crore sanctioned are fully utilized. As such the executing agencies are
requested to speed up their allotted works. As is well known Rs 22.50 crore is
still balanced and it seems that the quicker the work are done, the quicker the
balance money will be released.
